Communications methods have changed a lot during our lifetime. From emails, to texting, to twitter, the way in which we communicate is constantly changing.
But how does the medium of communication dictate the types of messages we send? And what happens when we transpose a message into another mode?
Hagan’s work focuses on using a communication technique called Flag Semaphore: an encoding of individual letters based on the relative position of two flags. He is making several semaphore flag modules that will deliver encoded messages to the viewers, gleaned from public information on the internet such as from news headlines, PDF documents, and from requested e-mails.
