Hollowed Grove

Constructed out of the readily available materials of hot glue and wooden coffee stirrers, Hollowed Grove is a kinetic and interactive sculptural installation which encourage questions concerning designed obsolescence, resource usage, and the economies of scale utilized in manufacturing.

A preview of Hollowed Grove was shown at Maker Faire NYC 2014, with a selection of sculptural elements constructed throughout the day and showcased to garner feedback.

While previous examples in the studio have reached over 7 feet tall freestanding, on site at the World Maker Faire NYC 2014 the tallest tree elements touched 6ft. They were constructed in parts and reassembled onsite, including repairs following a rainstorm between the first and second day of the faire.

Hollowed Grove received both a Editor's Choice award and a Best in Show award at the Maker Faire NYC 2014
