'For those that seek the truth may you find certainty' is a two part installation (Outside and Inside) that was completed during the Artist in Residency program on Governors Island through 4heads during July through October of 2020. This installation focuses on questions of knowledge, the discomfort in uncertainty, anxiety and hope.
On the east-facing garage of Colonel's row 408A, Armie looks towards the sky, peeking out from over the edge of the driveway. His hands reach out, cupping the house and the garage to steadying himself. Armie views the world with a cautious hope, though this is not without an underlying building anxiety.
Inside of 408A on the second floor is the man who shares my studio, a seer intent on observing, cataloging and connecting all signs he sees through the window. He is surrounded by cardboard tools to help him sense the outside world.
A single piece of yarn connects the two pieces, strung out the window and tied around Armie's index finger in a bow.
